ArtBeatz was brought on board the boulder painting project for the Urban Youth Festival in 2019, by the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore. The project enabled ArtBeatz to collaborate with various groups of art lovers, ranging from students to local artists like Sun Yu-Li, and visually transform boring, bare boulders into meaningful, vibrant masterpieces. With ArtBeatz curating the overall style of the boulders, the project was successful in creating a strong and cohesive look. The boulders reflected on the notions of ‘My City, My Colours’, highlighting the distinctive aspects of Singapore and its progress.
All participants had a wonderful time painting the boulders. The painted boulders were installed at Marina Bay Sands for both locals and foreigners to appreciate. Below is a glimpse of the project:
